Riding in a T-shirt feels AMAZING, and in this t-shirt adventure gravel ride video, I make my case for why you should do more rides in a t-shirt and leave the jersey at home.

For me, the t-shirt ride is a clean slate. You have never been dropped or bonked or really had any negative experiences while wearing the t-shirt on the bike. So when you do where it, your kinda free to make the best of it. It also forces you to kinda just enjoy the ride and not worry about numbers.

I have these super dope shorts from Rapha ( that have pockets on them. But they are pretty expensive, so in this cycling video I give 3 ways you can carry your stuff on the t-shirt ride.

  1. I love it! Yes, your viewers are probably most young, good-looking athletes. But I'm the middle aged woman riding to, as you put it, "not be a fat blob on the couch," lol! Next time I'm feeling too lazy to ride, I'll remind myself of this reason for doing it 🙂

  2. I compete but the main reason I ride is for the adventure like I train everyday and love it but I still love that moment when I’m on my own no bike computer and no idea where I’m going

  3. There is a lot to be said about the uniforms you pick out and how they effect you. I like baggies for mountain biking because it definitely changes my mindset from road biking. I like the club ride cycling shorts because they have pockets and don't look like jerseys. Also, tri shorts often have pockets in them.

  4. Awesome content and video quality for all your videos! This video and the sprinter video (Justin) inspired me to 1) wear a stretched tee and baggy shorts over my lycra, padded shorts, and 2) to race automobiles from the stoplights for as many sprints until becoming light-headed and nauseous.  #1 was so liberating, but #2 felt defeating being dropped by the cars…breathe! I am a 57yo, fixed rider, who fits in the "Moderate" training category.  Will probably never KOM, or win any races, but enjoy seeing your successes and your tips for riding beyond my comfort.  Please consider an educational video (series?) for us older folk who aspire to any cycling option(s) to breaking away from the 9 to 5 to a livelihood supported by just cycling:). Keep up the great work!

  5. Great video. As for back pockets – there are plenty of loose fitting jerseys that have back pockets but are essentially like wearing a t-shirt. I have two jerseys from clubride with pockets that feel like wearing a t-shirt. If I'm going for a more laid back ride, I will sometimes combine a loose fitting jersey with underwear with a minimal chamois and a pair of shorts.

  6. 100% agree. My wife thinks I’m crazy that I feel so free and different riding bikes with a t shirt, and not even carrying a change of tube or any tools. Those are the best type of rides for sure.

  7. As a cheaper option, Aero Tech Designs sell a nice bike short with mesh side pockets. I like them a lot. I can my point and shoot, phone, truck keys and more in them. They're under $100 and pretty comfortable. But they're shorts, not bibs.

  8. You are right, the most important is to have fun when we ride, it does not matter what you wear, the important thing is to enjoy the moment. It was a great content!
