  1. (1) If your washer has a "hand wash" setting, use it — it should be the most gentle setting. (2) If your kit was soiled a lot or you sweat heavily and you needed to add a little extra detergent to the wash, then follow the wash cycle with an extra rinse and spin cycle. (3) If the chamois in your shorts is stained, put some liquid detergent directly on it and work it into the chamois by hand before you wash it.
